A Mother's Heart

The day I felt you in my womb
I knew I'd do anything for you
I couldn't wait to see your face
The one who took my heart and through
All of life's unending hate
Would teach me to love the way I knew
I never could without this one
And utterly enlightening loom
Upon which you wove a tapestry
Of joyful triumph and travesty
That terrifying and euphoric be
Would change my soul into something new
Perfect eyes, perfect nose
Perfect fingers, perfect toes
Perfection none will ever see
Perfection only seen by me
First step, misstep
First word, misheard
I never knew it could hurt so much
The pain of love that breaks apart
The jagged pieces of my heart
And grinds away until all is dust
When your tiny heart was joined for life
To this beating, ever fractured one
Yet healing also in the wings
Like a bird that flies into the sun
Blinding light encompassed all
As worlds have fallen far below
Insignificant in the glow
Of the warm and sustaining life I've known

Writing, Writing, Writing

It seems there are not enough hours in the day to feed my writing obsession the way it needs to be fed. Rest assured that progress is being made, though my other roles in life give me even less time to work. I am posting an update, however. I am on the final chapters of A Story For Ireland. I know it has been years, but I needed to adjust to my role as a mother. That was a pretty massive adjustment. Before motherhood, I was able to write a book in a year. I am back on the horse and ready to proceed, though, so I will FINALLY have A Story For Ireland out by the end of this year. I am also very excited about my new fantasy series, The Chronicles Of Arith.  I am currently posting it exclusively on Channillo, but it may also make an appearance on KDP. Release Date: A Story For Ireland

Dear readers, I am so happy to report that the third and final book of The Broken Woman Cycle has been released! A Story for Ireland is now available as an e-book on Kindle. A paperback copy will also be available shortly if that is your preference. Thank you so much to everyone who took this journey with me. I may be done with this series, but keep your eyes open for more from me in the future. I may add a few novellas to  my romance series or even try out some Fantasy or Sci-Fi.
