It's About That Time Again

Image
Well, several months have gone by and I haven't posted a single blog. (Shame upon me again.) Because of my utter lack of faithfulness when it comes to blogging, I believe everyone is due for an update. I am still working on book three of The Broken Woman Cycle and am quite pleased with how things are shaping up. At this exact moment, however, I am in the grips of laptop withdrawals. I know tapping away at a typewriter in a dimly lit room seems like a romantic image, but in reality it feels more like that movie Misery. Only with no delete button or editing and an ungodly amount of wasted ink and paper. If missing my beautiful and convenient software makes me less of a writer in anyone's eyes, then so be it. I eagerly await the day I have a laptop in my grasping hands again. Moving on before this becomes an ode to technological advancement, I can also say that I have written an entire SciFi trology... in my head. The SAHM Writer

The SAHM writer. I once believed myself to be alone in this endeavour, but there are more of us out there than I realized. Before being a SAHM, I worked as a full-time substitute teacher and went to college for Liberal Arts with a concentration in Teaching. I enjoyed teaching when the kids would light up with new knowledge, but writing was always my passion. I would be in the middle of a lesson when a brilliant idea struck, so I'd start scribbling it down while I spoke. Alas, I had to leave my job...

Thoughts Of A Shadowed Mind

Image
The mist engulfs my mind again. It comes creeping into the crevices of my consciousness. Slow at first. Oppressing me, hiding me, allowing me to move among shadows with the other dark creatures. This withdrawal pulls me beneath a glass surface- reflecting intricacies of thought I scarcely realized. That rare gleam of inspiration rushes forward, demolishing all else in a blinding torrent. I give a fevered gasp and glory in the revelations I have found. Yet I have responsibilities and disabilities. I cannot dance in the fire and moonlight. I must bid farewell until fortune finds a better fate for me.
